The shop has hardly changed since it opened in the 1890s, some of the products are a bit more modern, and the shop’s got a little bigger, but we're still the same traditional hardware store.

There has been a hardware store in Fortescue Road since the 1890’s.

This proper old fashioned hardware store has only ever had 3 owners.  It was started by Mr Orchard, who ran the shop until Mr Tiley took over in the 1950’s.  Mr Thomson took it on in the 1970’s and it is still family run.  Known to all our loyal customers as 'Mr T', Mr Thomson is now in his 90’s, but he is still 'the boss' and no matter the question, he will usually have the answer.

Of course Mr T has a team of helpers nowadays...
